~ 1854 Silver Half Hunter Pocket Watch ~
A handsome silver, half hunter, key wind pocket watch by Payne & Co dating to 1854.
The watch has a white enamel dial with minute increments around the circumference, black Roman numerals for hours and blued steel hands.
The dial is marked ‘Payne & Co. 163 New Bond Street, London, 6084’.
The case front has a round open ‘window’ to the centre around which is engraved another dial with black enamel Roman numerals. The rest of the case front and the case back have machine turned detailing.
The inside of the case back is fully hallmarked for Silver, London, 1854, and there is a makers stamp of ‘J.H’. The inner case back and the case front are also hallmarked.
The movement is engraved ‘No. 6084, Payne & Co, New Bond Street, London’.

The watch has a diameter of 4.9cm which is just under 2 inches. It weighs 78.7g.
~ Condition ~
There is a small mark to the dial, it appears to be more of a light score mark rather than a crack but all in all the watch is in great condition.
The watch is in good working order.
