~ Les Must De Cartier Gold Plated Ballpoint Pen c1980’s ~
A fine quality gold plated ball point pen by Cartier from their ‘Les Must De Cartier’ Range with original case, circa 1980’s.
The Must de Cartier concept came about in 1973, when two men put their heads together to think of a creative solution to revive Cartier.
Coining the phrase “Les Must de Cartier,” they went on to create a line of products that one simply needed to have.
This opened up opportunities for Cartier to develop beyond jewelry to areas such as leather goods, pens, fragrances and watches that were affordable and desirable for every day, but still had that Cartier magical aura around it.
The pen has a flattened oval form and textured surface. The pocket clip lies flat against the pen and pops out by pushing a button at the top and of the pen cap.
The pen has the ‘Cartier’ symbol to one end as well as being marked as gold plated. It bears the serial no. of ‘478631’
The pen has its original ‘Cartier’ named refill inside but the ink has long since run out/dried up and will need replacing.
The pen comes in its original named leatherette case.
~ Dimensions ~
The pen has a length of 13.5cm (5 ¼ inches) and weighs 24g.
The case measures 18cm x 6cm (7 inches by 2 ⅓ inches) and with pen weighs 133g.
~ Condition ~
The pen is in a lovely condition with no damages.
As mentioned the original named refill has run out of ink so will need replacing but a standard biro refill should suffice.
The case has some minor damage to the lining but the outside is in good order.
