The Sailors & Soldiers Christmas Fund was created by Princess Mary, daughter of King George V and Queen Mary. This was made to provide everyone wearing the King’s uniform and serving overseas on Christmas Day 1914 with a “gift from the nation”. This box has been used to contain letters and other documents sent to a soldier by his love.
*Condition*
The box is in very good condition for its age. It has a few minor marks and knocks but nothing serious. Please see pictures for more detail as these form part of our condition report.
