~ WW2 Hampshire Regiment Drummer’s Tunic ~
This is a lovely piece dating back most probably to the days of the Second World War.
The tunic is made of red wool with yellow shoulder boards, cuffs and yellow collar with a white and red king’s crown piping.
The drum symbol is attached on the right sleeve as seen in the pictures.
The piece comes with its while leather belt with a brass buckle. The belt is a 1989 replacement (as stamped on the reverse), but the buckle is period.
All buttons are present.
The tunic is lined with a white wool fabric and still bears parts of the original label.
The inner edge is also stamped with black paint ‘1686/56/S/14’.

The length from the top of the collar to its lower end is 28 inches (71 cm).
The width from shoulder to shoulder is 16 inches (40.5 cm).
The width armpit to armpit is 17 inches (43 cm).
The waist is 15 inches (38.5 cm).
The sleeve length is 21 inches (53 cm).
The collar circumference is 15 inches (38 cm).
It weighs 1.85 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The piece is in fair condition for its age with some un-stitched sections on the collar, minor moth damage and general wear.
