Description

~ Czech VZ58 Bayonet and Scabbard #2~

The Czech VZ58 bayonet is a type of bayonet designed for use with the VZ58 rifle, which is a selective-fire rifle developed in Czechoslovakia during the late 1950s. The VZ58 is often mistaken for an AK-47 due to its similar appearance, but it's a distinct rifle with different internal mechanisms.

The bayonet designed for the VZ58 is often referred to as the "VZ58 bayonet." It's a detachable knife-like blade that can be affixed to the muzzle of the VZ58 rifle, effectively turning it into a makeshift spear or close combat weapon. This bayonet is known for its distinctive appearance, featuring a simple design with a crossguard and a blade that's typically around 6 to 7 inches (15 to 18 cm) in length.

The VZ58 bayonet was primarily designed for military use and saw service in various conflicts involving Czechoslovakia and other countries that used the VZ58 rifle. It's worth noting that the VZ58 bayonet is not compatible with the AK-47 or its variants, despite the visual similarities between the VZ58 and the AK-47.

As of my last update in September 2021, the VZ58 rifle and its bayonet were still of historical and collector interest. However, for the most up-to-date information or if you're looking to acquire one, I recommend checking with firearm and military collectors, dealers, or experts who specialize in historical firearms and accessories.

The blade is serial numbered 10H66 on one side and 108 on the other.
