Description

*Very rare, Argentinian made, M1909 Artillery Short Sword, with matching metal scabbard, by Industria Argentina JC Suarez y Cia.*

It's very rare to find military issue jungle bayonet with matching numbered scabbard and a full Argentine crest on the blade. Used by the Argentine Elite Commando Force or Argentine Artillery.

This is a particularly scarce Argentine made machete as most were manufactured under contract in Germany. A 37cm single-edged blade with a flat spine above a flat blade tapers to a spear point. The ricasso is stamped "Industria Argentina JC Suarez y Cia" in a circle. The obverse ricasso is stamped arched over the Argentine coat of arms with the letters E-A. Wood grips, affixed with two rivets. Above the cross piece is stamped the serial number G00282. The black metal scabbard has the matching serial number.

*Condition*
This short sword in in good condition with clear markings but some age related tarnishing. There are a few minor nicks to the blade. The scabbard is in good condition with some age related wear to the paint work and a break towards the tip. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
