Description

The 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Sabre stands as an iconic testament to the martial history of the British military. Designed for use by the cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars, this sabre showcases a blend of elegance and functionality. Its distinctive curved blade and single-edged design allowed for swift and devastating strikes from horseback. The sabre also features a hilt adorned with a stirrup guard to protect the wielder's hand.

On the spine of the blade, is the inscription ‘Dawes, Birmingham’, a renowned sword maker. This sabre would make an excellent addition to any collection.

~ Condition ~

This sabre is in excellent condition with very light, even pitting across the metal parts. The top of the grip has had some damage but remains strong and functional. Please see pictures for more detail.
