~ Cut Glass Sugar Bowl With Sterling Silver Lid c1905 ~
A beautifully decorative cut glass sugar bowl with sterling silver lid.
The bowl is of squat bulbous form with angular art-deco style decoration and is topped with a simple plain silver lid with ring style handle.
The lid is possibly not original to the piece as it has a small indentation to the edge (where a spoon would sit) which the bowl does not, but nonetheless it fits perfectly, is of a similar age to the glass bowl and looks great .
The silver lid is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1905 and has a makers mark of ‘BB’.
~ Dimensions ~
The bowl has a diameter of 11cm (4 ¼ inches) and a height of 6.5cm (2 ½ inches) or 8cm (3 ¼ inches) including lid and handle.
It weighs 480g.
~ Condition ~
The glass is in a nice condition with only a few nibbles but no actual chips or cracks.
The silver is in a very nice condition with only a tiny dent over the hallmark.
