The 20x139 round is for the "HS-820 (Hispano-Suiza HS.820, Oerlikon KAD)" and "Rh-202" (Rheinmetall Mk 20 Rh-202 (Mk - Maschinenkanone)), 20mm automatic cannon a 20 mm caliber autocannon. The Rheinmetall Mk 20 Rh-202 Anti-Aircraft Gun, introduced in 1972, was designed for the German Army in both single and twin barrel configurations. It utilized 20x139 rimless lacquered steel cartridge cases, each fitted with a projectile featuring an iron driving band. This weapon system was also used by the Argentine army in the Falklands War in 1982. See pages 46 and 47 Janes Ammunition Handbook, 1st Edition 1993 – 4.

The Dutch Company “NWM” company manufactured 20x139 ammunition between 1980-1998.

NWM, or Nederlandse Wapen- en Munitiefabriek De Kruithoorn B.V., began its operations in s'Hertogenbosch in 1948, initially as a family-owned business specializing in manufacturing shotshells. By 1953, NWM had expanded its production to include military contracts and also provided sporting ammunition for the SPEER Corporation in Idaho. In 1961, the company underwent reorganization to facilitate necessary expansion, transitioning into a publicly traded company. During this period, the German company DWM (IWK) became the primary shareholder, establishing a close working relationship between DWM and NWM. Throughout the 1960s, NWM fulfilled contracts for both Speer and DWM by producing cases for their respective ammunition.
