Approximate Measurements: 129cm overall, 86.5cm barrel, approximately 15mm bore.

This has the Belgium 'Banc d' Epreuves des Armes A' Feu De Liege' proof mark which was used from 1818. The absence of a Crown over the ELG proof mark on the barrel confirms that it was made before 1893. This would likely have been exported from Belgium to a country like the United States with a thriving market for all sorts of firearms. As people moved West and settled in remote areas, hunting was especially important to put food on the table. This would have been a good tool for fowl hunting.

Part round, part octagon barrel that screws-off. All components are obviously original to the gun. The lock-plate is unmarked with nice foliage engraving which is echoed on the butt strap and on the trigger guard. the buttstock is iron.

A very good piece for the antique arms collector or arms curiosa enthusiast

*Condition*
Lovely looking gun with an excellent patina. The metal surfaces a medium grey patina with scattered old oxidation but no pitting. Strong action but doesn't hold the cock. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
