The Defence Medal (1939–1945) – awarded for non-operational military and certain types of civil defence service during WWII. The obverse bears the crowned effigy of King George VI; the reverse shows the Royal Arms flanked by two lions with the dates "1939" and "1945" above.

The War Medal (1939–1945) – issued to all full-time personnel of the Armed Forces wherever they served, provided they completed 28 days of service. The reverse features a lion standing on a double-headed dragon symbolising the Axis powers.
