Foo dogs, also known as Chinese Guardian Lions or Shishi, are traditional statues of stylized lions placed in pairs to guard important entrances, symbolizing protection, wealth, and status, with the male (ball) and female (cub) representing yin and yang to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune, common in imperial palaces, temples, and modern homes.
