Description

*British Army, 1993, Camouflage Face Paint Two Colour Stick by Q.M.S., Light Green No.1 / Dark Brown No.2, Original Field Issue Example*

An original British Army issue camouflage face paint stick dated 1993, produced by Q.M.S., Stoke-on-Trent, in the standard two-colour field format of Light Green No.1 and Dark Brown No.2. These compact dual-ended sticks were issued for fieldcraft, concealment, and exercise use, allowing soldiers to quickly apply disruptive camouflage to exposed skin during training and operational deployment.

The cylindrical plastic container retains its original printed label reading “CAMOUFLAGE FACE PAINT – TWO COLOUR” with the specification “Light Green No.1. Dark Brown No.2”, dated 1993, with Batch No. 1950 and Contract C3729. The reverse is marked Q.M.S. – Made in U.K. – Stoke on Trent, identifying the wartime and military supply contractor.

This style of camouflage stick was widely used by British forces throughout the late Cold War and post-Cold War period, including BAOR service, Northern Ireland, and training exercises on Salisbury Plain. The green and brown combination provided effective concealment in temperate woodland and European terrain, making these a familiar part of infantry, engineer, reconnaissance, and cadet field kit.

Surviving complete examples with clear labels are increasingly collectible, particularly dated contract-issued examples retaining original contents rather than later surplus reproductions.

Approx. Measurements – Length: 8.5 cm. Diameter: 2.8 cm.

*Condition*
Original used example with both end caps present and substantial original contents remaining to both green and brown sections. Printing remains clear and legible throughout. Light handling and storage wear consistent with genuine field issue. An attractive and increasingly hard-to-find piece of original 1990s British military personal equipment. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
