~ Circa 1770 Brown Bess Fusil for British Officer ~
A very unusual piece with a long 42 inches barrel and a smaller caliber (the bore is 0.64 inches in diameter).
The piece is fitted with a front site and the barrel bears a pair of Georgian proof marks and reads London on the top section.
The lockplate is named Jover.
All its brass fittings are painted black and are of very good quality. The handgrip bears a brass cartouch at the top.
~ Condition ~
The fusil is in good condition for its age with some missing nails.
It half cocks, cocks and dry fires.
