~ 1802 Framed Stipple Engraving Of Admiral Lord Nelson Engraved By C. Turner ~
This is a wonderful print by Charles Turner of Admiral Lord Nelson.
The engraving is after an original painting by John Hoppner.
The picture shows Admiral Lord Nelson in the classic pose with right arm sleeve pinned across his chest. Lord Nelson stands on the rocks in the foreground with a scene from one of his battles, raging in the background.
Below the portrait reads ‘Engraved by C. Turner’, ‘Painted by I. Hoppner Esq.r R.A. Portrait Painter to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales’ and also with the title ‘ADMIRAL LORD NELSON’.
This particular print was published by Colnaghi of Cockspur Street on December 21st, 1802 though these details do not appear on the print.
The plate pressure marks are present on all sides.
The print is presented in its original wooden glazed frame.

~ Condition ~
The print is in good condition although the paper has yellowed somewhat over time.
The frame is in sound condition but is quite chipped around the edges and has some paint splatters.
