This is an excellent 1858 pattern, British Naval Cutlass. This would have been used throughout the late 1800s attached to a .577 Percussion Naval Rifle. The blade is marked with the Royal Cipher and an “S” for Solingen, where the blade was inspected. It also features the Weyersburg, Kirschbaum & Compagnie logo which is the original name of the well-known WKC Company.
*Condition*
This bayonet is in great condition with some patches of pitting on the blade and some light pitting across the other metal parts. The scabbard is original and also in great condition. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
