~ 19th Century Staffordshire Gardener Figural Spill Vase ~
The vase element is in the form of an open tree trunk. A young working boy is leaning on the side & sitting on the rock wall beside it, with a garden rake resting just behind his right hand. The piece has many vibrant earth colours, including blue, green & orange.
~ Dimensions ~
The piece has a width of 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), a depth of 4 inches (10.1 cm) and a height of 9 inches (22.8 cm). It weighs 760 g.
~ Condition ~
The piece is in excellent condition.
The vase part has a hairline crack terminating in a nibble to the trunks rim. A finger tip on the left hand is missing. There is a coloured in chip to the hat brim. The glaze is generally excellent with minimal loss. The base has the correct degree of standing wear for an original piece.
