~ 20th century “Nippon Zosenkikai Co” Japanese Bronze Engine Room Telegraph ~
The telegraph of typical form, produced by Nippon Zosenkikai Co, has double luminated dial plates in white and has the following clear order commands for both Ahead and Astern:
“STAND BY” “STOP” “FINISHED WITH ENGINE” “DEAD SLOW” “SLOW” “HALF” “FULL”.
The dial plate is also signed:
“Nippon Zosenkikai Co Ltd, Tokyo”
The pedestal base has six mount holes.
~ Dimensions ~
The telegraph has a height of 40 inches (101.5cm). The base has a diameter of 9.5 inches (24cm), whilst the dial has a diameter of 9 inches (23cm).
It weighs 14kg.
~ Condition ~
The body is in good condition. The face has become somewhat faded due to age, with some of the wording becoming slightly faded. The bell no longer rings, and the hand is slightly loose. One dial face is cracked.
