Description

~ 1858 Tower Percussion Pistol ~

This is a nice example of a 19th century good quality percussion pistol stamped Tower. The piece is marked with a V.R. cypher and it dates back to 1858.

The piece comes with a walnut grip, mounted stock and a metal barrel.

The pistol has a brass trigger guard, trigger guard plate, brass barrel band and a brass finial.

The manufacturing year `1856` and `TOWER` are stamped on the lock plate with typical British military markings next to them.

The left lock plate is marked with Crown over V.R.

The piece half-cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.

~ Dimensions ~

The barrel is 9 inches (23 cm) and the overall length of the piece is 15 inches (38 cm).

It weighs 1.42 Kg.

The piece remains in good working order with some age, darkening on the metalwork and a few chips stock.

The muzzle has some amount of rust inside and the barrel shows minimal pitting but the piece is in good order.
