~ c1900 German Armand Marseille 370 Bisque Head Doll ~
An antique Armand Marseille doll dating to around 1900, with a 370 model bisque head and shoulders.
Armand Marseille founded his toy company in 1865 in Thuringia, Southern Germany. From 1885 until about 1930 the company was at the heart of the German doll-making revolution.
The doll has a soft body with lower arms and lower legs of paste.
The head is of bisque with weighted eyes and an open mouth. It has impressed marks to back of neck reading ‘370, AM-2/0 DEP, Armand Marseille, Made in Germany’.
The doll wears a dress and straw bonnet and has a multitude of undergarments.

The doll measures 46cm (18 inches) in length.
It weighs 585g
~ Condition ~
The bisque head is damage free but has a couple of marks to the face. The eyes open and close though the eyelids have some wear.
The hair is somewhat worn, partly because the bonnet was most likely glued to the head and is now loose.
The body, arms and legs are in generally decent condition with only age related light wear.
The clothing has age related discolouration and the odd tear and the bonnet is a bit worn.
