~ c1902 Edward VII And Queen Alexandra Doulton Lambeth Coronation Jug ~
A Doulton Lambeth stoneware commemorative jug marking the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902.
The jug is decorated in a rich blue glaze with a single brown glazed handle.
The jug has a wide band around the circumference decorated with applied medallions featuring portraits of the King and Queen, Prince John and
the Prince of Wales (later King George V) between tube-lined Art Nouveau floral motifs.
Above and below are inscriptions reading ‘In Commemoration Of The Coronation Of Their Majesties’ and ‘King Edward & Queen Alexandra –
Anno Domini MDCCCCII (1902 in Roman numerals).
The base is stamped ‘Doulton Lambeth England’ with the no. 1282 and the potters mark of ‘RB’ which we believe to be Rosina Brown who
worked at Doulton Lambeth between 1875 and 1905, and was a Senior Assistant from 1882.

The jug has an approximate diameter of 11.5cm (4 ½ inches) and stands at 18.5cm (7 ¼ inches).
It weighs 1.05 Kg.

The jug is in a great condition with no damages, chips or restoration.
