~ c1925 Small Silver Inkwell With Enamel Picture Lid ~
A lovely inkwell dated for 1925 with an enamel painted image to its lid.
The inkwell is of square tapered form with wood base and hinged lid.
The lid features an enamel painted image of two ladies, covered in thick convex glass.
The inkwell is hallmarked for Birmingham silver, 1925. There is a makers mark but this is slightly worn and difficult to distinguish.
~ Dimensions ~
The inkwell measures 6.5cm (2 ½ inches) square with a height of 4.5cm (1 ¾ inches).
It weighs 85g.
~ Condition ~
The inkwell has a couple of dings to the corners of the lid and a couple more to the edge of the base, but otherwise is in a very nice condition with minimal wear.
The lid does not sit flush on the base as it is set back by a few millimetres.
There is no liner.
