~ c1940 Arts & Crafts Style Hammered Pewter 3 Piece Tea Service ~
With its hammered, dimpled finish and medallion legs the styling reflects the earlier designs of the 1880's.
All 3 pieces are stamped to the underside "A.E. POSTON & CO LTD. 2907 ENGLISH PEWTER".
Poston of Birmingham, England were formed in 1936 and ceased trading in 1953.

The teapot measures 11 inches (28cm) in length by 6 inches (15cm) across by 5 inches (12.5cm) high. It weighs 748g.
The milk jug measures 6.5 inches (16.5cm) in length by 4.25 inches (10.5cm) across by 3 inches (7.5cm) high. It weighs 295g.
The sugar bowl measures 6.5 inches (16cm) in length by 4.25 inches (10.5cm) across by 3 inches (7.5cm) high. It weighs 284g.
~ Condition ~
The teapot has a few small dimples, the lid closes smoothly. The sugar bowl and milk jug are in excellent condition with minor surface wear commensurate with age and use.
