~ Cased Pair Of 18th Century British Officers Flintlock Pistols By Ketland ~
The pistols have full walnut stocks with steel and brass fittings. One lockplate is stamped Ketland, the other is too worn to be read though they are a matched pair. They are presented in a later maroon velvet lined oak case with a powder flask and lead balls.
~ Condition ~
The pistols are in good tidy order. The steel and brass work are excellent with minimal pitting. The stocks are tidy and free from cracks, both have minor loss on the right side by the muzzle. one has a few old worm holes. Both cock and half cock and release with a decent spring. The ramrods may be replacements. The powder flask has a few dings. The case is not original to the set, it is most likely a converted Victorian cutlery case.
~ Dimensions ~
The pistols are each 43 cm (17 inches) in length with a 25.5 cm (10 inches) barrel.
The case is 51 cm (20.25 inches) wide, 25 cm (10 inches) deep and 10.5 cm (4.25 inches) tall.
