~ Cased Ships Compass By Plath Of Germany With Oil Burner ~
A very well presented example, the first I have had in a wooden case, usually they are brass.
Under the hinged lid is a quality Plath compass on gimballed mounts.
The plaque on the front of the case reads “C. Plath Hamburg Germany”.
To the side is an oil lamp in a brass case.
It probably dates from the mid-20th century but the top loop is a much later addition.
~ Dimensions ~
The piece is 27 cm (10.5 inches) tall by 35 cm (13.75 inches) wide by 20 cm (8 inches) deep. It weighs 4.3 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The piece is in excellent order.
