An original and highly displayable 27×145mm Mauser BK-27 aircraft cannon round, offered as a completely inert display piece, with no explosive or energetic components. A correct NATO-standard aircraft cannon round with German DM-series designation and RG (Radway Green) manufacture.

The projectile is marked “27G DM28 DM1315 L01 RG-50-094”, identifying it as a DM28-type projectile used within the 27mm Mauser BK-27 system. While DM28 is commonly associated with HEI (High Explosive Incendiary), it has also been used under certain NATO contracts for Target Practice (TP) variants, and this example shows no surviving colour coding, so is best described as DM28-type.

The cartridge case is base-marked “27×145 DM1001 / LOS RG / -1-002”, confirming the standard German 27×145mm calibre and DM1001 case designation. The case is finished in its original grey lacquer over steel and is magnetic, consistent with NATO aircraft cannon ammunition.

This round type was developed for the Mauser BK-27 revolver cannon, a high-rate aircraft weapon widely used from the Cold War through to modern service, notably on the Panavia Tornado, Alpha Jet, and Eurofighter Typhoon. A strong representative example of modern NATO air armament.

Good display condition overall. The projectile shows surface oxidation, spotting, and age-related finish wear, with no remaining colour bands visible. The steel case retains its grey lacquer finish with scuffs and handling marks. All major markings remain legible. The primer is struck/spent, confirming inert status.
