Circulated WWI German Imperial Reichsbanknote 20 Mark, issued in Berlin, dated 19 February 1914.
Face: Blue print on blue underprint and tan/beige underprint. The Reichsadler (Imperial Eagle) appears at upper right. Serial number is printed in red vertically along the left and right margins. Two red seals of the Reichs Bank Directorate appear at lower left and right, the latter with the anti-counterfeit warning overprinted in blue.
Reverse: Central guilloche design element containing note’s value printed in red and blue with a tan/beige underprint over the entire note. The serial number appears in red at upper and lower center. The underprint letter appears in light green to the left of the upper serial number and appears to be precisely aligned with the underprint letter on the obverse. The main serial number begins with Q and the underscore letter shown here is F. The left portion of the note appears darker due to a higher concentration of blue fibers.
