The board is of oak and the raised letters are of chromed bronze with red painted edges.
~ HMS Layburn ~
HMS Layburn was a Lay class Boom Defence vessel. Built by Simons Lobnitz Limited Renfrew, the ship was launched 14/04/1960 and sold in April 1978 to Gardline Shipping for commercial service but not used or renamed. It was later sold for scrapping on the continent. From 1969 – 1973 it was the last RN ship at Malta. It was replaced by RMAS Garganey.

The board has a width of 54.5 inches (138.4cm), a height of 10 inches (25.4cm) and a depth of 1.5 inches (3.8cm). It weighs 11.62kg.
~ Condition ~
The board is in good vintage condition. The wood has almost no chips or scratches and the paint is in fair but worn condition. The metal letters are in good order.
