For sale is an 1856 British Yataghan sword bayonet. As used for the Model 1853, 577 calibre Enfield rifled infantry short-musket. The blade has a flat spine and broad single fuller on both sides. The blade bears a stamped VR crown and Enfield inspection mark on the reverse. The bayonet is complete with its original leather scabbard.
*Condition*
The bayonet itself is in good condition. The blade has a nice historical light pitting in some areas. The grip is still nicely robust and has minimal pitting. The ordinal leather scabbard does show age with cracks and wear on the weather. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
