~ Pair Of Coastal Watercolours, Manner Of Samuel Own (RA) ~
This pair of watercolours depict coastal scenes; one depicts a fishing boat on shore, sails up, with a number of fishermen preparing all the catches they have made. The other depicts a similar ship with a number of figures overlooking the fantastic view that is before them.
Both watercolours are unsigned.
They are strongly in the manner of Samuel Owen whose works were often unsigned. There is an old gallery attribution label to Owen on the reverse of each piece.
