*Serbian, Medal For Zeal, 1913 – Gold Class*
In bronze gilt measuring 32mm. First type of this medal, introduced in 1913 during The Balkan Wars. Design was subsequently changed in favour of larger medal with altered design.
The Medal “For Zealous Service” was instituted on April 19 (May 1), 1913, in two classes, as Gold and Silver, during the First Balkan War as an award for privates, sergeants, officers and civilians for zealous service both in and for the Serbian Army, as well as for servicemen of the allied armies. Awards continued throughout the First World War and beyond. The author of the design is thought to be sculptor Djordje Jovanovic.

On the back there is a double-headed eagle from the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Serbia. The material of manufacture is bronze. The ribbon of the medal would be triangular and blue.
