~ James Duke & Nephew Cup And Saucer 1860-63 ~
A rather rare hand painted bone china cup and saucer by Sir James Duke & Nephews with rich vermicula ground, gilded, claret borders painted with mountainous landscape scenes in oval panels.
Both cup and saucer are marked underneath ‘6/6905’.
~ Dimensions ~
The cup is 2.5 inches (6cm) tall with a diameter of 3.1 inches (8cm).
The saucer has diameter of 5.75 inches (14.5cm).
The total weight is 245 grams.
~ Condition ~
The set is free from cracks. The cup has a tiny flea bite chip to the underside rim. The gilding is worn, most noticeable on the saucer. The painted panels are unblemished.
