~ Victorian Ironstone Chinese Flora Lidded Tureen ~
A nice ironstone ware lidded tureen in a Chinese style pattern dating to the mid to late 1800’s.
The heavy ironstone tureen is decorated with coloured images of Chinese pagodas and flowers on a white ground.
The tureen has twin moulded handles and a stepped base.
The lid has a finial moulded as a rose bud with leaves.
The base has a factory mark reading ‘Chinese Flora’ within a shield with crown atop and banner featuring the initials ‘ZB’ (or maybe LB?).
~ Dimensions ~
The tureen has a diameter of 27cm (10 ½ inches) and a height of 18cm (7 inches).
It weighs 1.7 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The tureen has some crazing to the glaze and the odd mark to the pattern.
There is a small 1-2mm chip to the centre of the tureen.
The lower edge of the lid and handles are a little rough from wear.
Otherwise the tureen is in a great condition with no damage.
