~ William Moorcroft Powder Blue Cornflower Bowl c1920 ~
A lovelyand rare ‘Cornflower’ pattern bowl by William Moorcroft, circa 1920.
The bowl is circular, deep with a footed base.
It features images of cornflowers in shades of blue both inside and out, on a speckled powder blue ground.
It has impressed marks to the underside of ‘Made in England’ & ‘Moorcroft’ as well as the number 20 (a pattern no.?) and has the
underglazed William Moorcroft signature in blue.
Attached to the underside is an ‘Albert E Wade Collection’ sticker.
~ Dimensions ~
The bowl has a diameter of 19.5cm (7 ¾ inches) and a height of 8cm (3 ¼ inches).
It weighs 635g.
~ Condition ~
The bowl has a small hairline crack to the rim but this is quite insignificant. The bowl is otherwise in a very nice condition with very
little sign of wear.
