*GSTP, Military Issue, WW2, Black-faced, Pocket Watch*
An unsigned British Military pocket watch. An open face case which has a snap on back and bezel. A black enamel dial with Arabic numerals and much faded lumen and, unusually, a white second clock. The back has the British Broad Arrow, followed by “G.S.T.P”, (G.S.T.P stands for General Services Timepiece/Temporary Pattern, which indicates that the watch was purchased by the British government for the armed forces 1939-1945) followed by the army stores numbers K11956. 5cm diameter.
This pocket watch would have been issued to a serving officer hence the war arrow and stores number, the number would have been entered into their pay packet and if it wasn’t returned their pay slips would have been docked.
*Condition*
The face is in good condition with a mostly clean face – there are some small bumps near to the 10, there is some wear to the lumen. The stem works to pull to change the time and to wind the watch. The second hand works and the watch appears to keep time. The case has some areas of metal coming through the nickel and minor scratches and marks commensurate with its age and service. We can open the watch on request. Case is in overall good condition. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
