~ WW2 German K98 Rifle Bayonet, Scabbard And Frog ~
The WW2 German K98 Rifle Bayonet, commonly referred to as the K98 bayonet or Kar98k bayonet, is a blade specifically designed for use with the German Karabiner 98k rifle (K98k), which was the standard-issue bolt-action rifle for the Wehrmacht during World War II. This bayonet, like many others throughout military history, served both as a close-combat weapon and as a tool that could be attached to the end of the rifle for hand-to-hand combat scenarios.
The blade is serial numbered 2542p and the scabbard 1275f. The stamp date is 37, so probably a very early piece. The manufacturer stamp reads E.u.F.Horster.
The catch button bears the early enable stamp and serial number 4889.
The black leather frog isn’t stamped.
