~ WW2 Short Sunderland Flying Boat Brass Model On Stand ~
A hand crafted brass model of a ‘Short Sunderland’ flying boat on stand dating from the Second World War.
The model would have been made by hand, most likely by RAF ground crew in their spare time during the war.
The model is that of a ‘Short S.25 Sunderland’ which was a British flying boat patrol bomber, developed and constructed by Short
Brothers for the Royal Air Force (RAF). It was the most powerful and widely used of the flying boats throughout the Second World
War.
The model is of brass. It is screw fixed onto a brass ‘lightning bolt’ shaped rod affixed to a stepped square brass base.
~ Dimensions ~
The plane itself measures 16cm (6 ¼ inches) by 21cm (8 ¼ inches).
On stand it has a height of 18cm (7 inches).
It weighs 1.23 Kg.
~ Condition ~
There is a small nick to the tip of one wing but otherwise the model is in a decent condition with light wear commensurate with age.
