~ Ladies Lotos Enamel On Guilloche Silver Fob Watch With Chain c1930’s ~
A beautiful and unusual early 20th century fob watch (or nurses watch) in blue enamel on guilloche silver by the Swiss company Lotos with matching chain.
The watch is of a ball/orb shaped watch which is suspended from a pin brooch.
The watch is decorated with blue enamel on guilloche silver, the enamel with small pink flowers.
The pin brooch is in the form of a bow, decorated in the same manner. It has a pin clasp to the reverse.
The watch has a circular white dial with both Arabic numerals and dot marker hours in gold with two hands. It is named ‘Lotos’ and
also reads ‘Swiss’.
The manual wind movement has 17 Jewels and is named ‘Lotos, Swiss’.
Included is a silver chain necklace with blue enamel on guilloche silver links in the same manner as the watch which may or may not
be original to the watch.
The watch, brooch and chain are all marked for sterling silver.
~ Dimensions ~
The dial has a diameter of 1.1cm and watch case has a diameter of 2cm.
The piece measures 4.5cm from top of the brooch to the end of the watch.
The chain has a length of 77.5cm (30 ½ inches).
Together they weigh 25g.
~ Condition ~
There is one tiny chip of about 2mm to the enamel on the watch but it is not too noticeable. Otherwise the watch is in a very nice
condition and is in good working order.
The chain has an uneven number of enamel links leading us to believe that one link may have been lost and the chain repaired, but
the repair cannot be seen.
