~ Rene Lalique Glass Molsheim Decanter c1920’s ~
A stunning clear Glass ‘Molsheim’ Decanter with decorative stopper by the renowned glass designer Rene Lalique.
The name ‘Molsheim’ refers to a range of glass ware Lalique produced in the 1920’s recognisable by the celtic-knot motif, as used on the stopper on this piece, and is named after a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.
The decanter is of clear, undecorated glass with a wide base, tapering to a small flared mouth and topped with a decorative Celctic-knot style stopper.
The decanter is etched to the base ‘R. Lalique, France, No. 5037’. It also bears initials ‘RL’ as does each stopper.
The decanter comes with an extra stopper, identical to the other (handy if you ever have an accident with the first).
