Description

This is a 2-band percussion musket that is able to cock and dry-fire. The Musket has its maker’s name, Joseph Bourne, London, inscribed on the top of the barrel with the numbers “559/84” as well.

Percussion muskets use the percussion cap ignition system which replaced the flintlock mechanism in the 19th century. They offered improved reliability and ease of use. These muskets played a significant role in military conflicts before being superseded by breech-loading weapons.

~Condition~

This musket is in great condition with minor knocks and marks to the main body and some heavier pitting to the hammer and rear end of the barrel. Please see pictures for more detail.
