~ Circa 1880 Turquoise Gilt Cup & Saucer ~
Judging by its decorations and manufacture pattern this set could be a Ridgeway piece.
The cup is marked on the reverse ‘471’ and the saucer ‘147’.
The saucer and the cup are decorated with gold leaves and branches on an open blue background with gilt margins.
~ Dimensions ~
The diameter of the saucer is 5 ½ inches (14 cm) and the top rim diameter of the cup is 3.14 inches (8 cm).
The set weighs 225 grams.
~ Condition ~
As seen in the pictures there is some discolouration on both cup and saucer and some loss of paint due to extensive usage.
There are no cracks though.
