~ Circa 1850 Percussion Shotgun ~
The shotgun was a walnut half stock with a chequered grip. It is fitted with a silver escutcheon top plate. The lock plate is lightly engraved. The barrel has a replaced pin foresight. A great country cottage wall hanger.
~ Condition ~
The metalwork is in good order with a deep patina. It half-cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring. The stock is in good order, a few chips to the upper edges. One of the barrel retaining washers is a copper replacement, the nut on the hammer is a replacement.
~ Dimensions ~
The shotgun is 107 cm (42 inches) in length with a 66 cm (26 inches) barrel. The bore is approximately 18 mm.
