~ Circa 1940 G.R. Oak Round Dial Wall Single Fusee Clock ~
This is a lovely c1940, single fusee wall clock in oak.
The dial is of white enamel with black Roman numerals and a minutes ring around the circumference.
It has a plain thin black minute hand and a black spade hour’s hand.
It is set within a round segmented oak surround and it is fitted with a brass rimmed, hinged glass front. There is a catch to lock the hinged glass in place.
The case has the traditional salt box to the reverse to house the movement. It is held in place by four turned wooden pegs.
The salt box has two small access doors, one to the side and one to the underside. To one side is stamped G.R. (George Rex).
A key is included.
~ Dimensions ~
The dial has a diameter of 12 inches (30.5 cm). The clock has an overall diameter of 15 inches (38 cm) and a depth of 6 inches (15 cm).
It weighs 5.02 kg.
~ Condition ~
The clock presents very well. The wooden finish to the case is very clean and in excellent condition.
The dial is original and fairly aged, it does have some small chips and some wearing to the face, and the numbers are clear and sharp.
The glass is free from damage; the brass ring has some minor wear, the hinge looks like it’s had some repair and seems fairly worn but still works well.
The clock has recently been serviced and is in good working order.
