~ Edwardian Durham Light Infantry Officers Blue Cloth Helmet ~
The cloth helmet is made from dark blue cloth and has both a front and reverse visor. It is complete with the original gilt metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses supporting a black velvet backed chin chain.
To the front is the gilt metal gilt eight pointed star plate topped with King’s Crown helmet plate, whilst the centre has the gilt regimental THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY’.
The inside is lined in a brown leather headband with red fabric liner.

The helmet measures 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) tall including the finial (which is 2 ¾ inches or 7cm).
From front to rear it measures 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) deep and side to side it measures 7 inches (17.8 cm).
It has a inner circumference of 19.79 inches (50.27 cm).
It weighs 474 g.
~ Condition ~
The helmet is in good condition. Some minor wear to the brass, the cloth has a few holes along all sides. The interior remain in good condition.
