~ Exquisite Hand Painted Porcelain Plate, Sevres Style Late 1700s ~
Outstanding craftsmanship on display here, hand-painted flora and fruit and gold filigree gilt.
Known as an “assiette a guirlandes”, this is extremely close to the tableware set made by Sevres, for Madame De Pompadour, mistress of Louis XV. but without the Blue factory mark or “Fleur-de-lys” painter’s mark for Taillander or incised mark.
It is very similar to items sold at Christies for many thousands.
~ Dimensions ~
The plate is 9.25 inches in diameter (23.5 cm).
It stands at 1 inch tall (2.5 cm) and weighs 465 g.
~ Condition ~
The plate is in excellent condition.
There is light wear at the point where the bowl of the plate levels to become the rim, possibly from being stacked at some stage.
