They were used by the German Military throughout both world wars, being used when signalling to German soldier to go “over the top” when leaving their trenches and engaging Allied forces. German aviators often carried this type of flare pistol to shoot at British aircraft and then-hydrogen filled balloons. Still remarkably good original condition with it wartime bluing and wooden grips. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired. With deactivation certificate.
*Condition*
Considering its age, the flare/signal pistol is in good condition. The fact that it can be cocked and dry fired is testament to its quality. As expected because of its age there is minor rust on the barrel. The wooden grips are very much sturdy and functional.
