~ Great Western Railway Single Fusee Wall Clock – Paddington ~
The clock has a cream/beige mottled painted dial with Roman numeral hours, an outer minutes ring and two black painted steel
hands.
The face is adorned with the Great Western Railways logo of ‘GWR’ within a circle and the name of the station from which it
presumably came ‘Paddington’.
It is set within a circular wood surround with a hinged glazed door to the front.
The case has the traditional salt box to the reverse to house the movement. The salt box is held in place with four wood pegs and has
two doors, one to the side and one below, to access the movement.
The clock has an English square plate single chain wire fusee 8-day movement, unnamed.
This is a great piece of train/locomotive history.
~ Dimensions ~
The clock has a diameter of 34cm (13 ½ inches) with a face diameter of 24cm (9 ½ inches).
It weighs 5.6 Kg.
~ Condition ~
One of the salt box pegs is a replacement and one is damaged but still does its job.
Overall the piece is in a very good condition with only light wear as expected with age.
It has recently been serviced and is in good working order.
