Description

*Original British 8 Bore Sport Percussion Musket with London Proof Marks*

An excellent 8 bore, single barrel percussion musket. Fitted with a walnut stock with hand chequering and brass stock plate, brass trigger, hammers engraved with scroll design. The heavy barrel is 29.5 inches long and is chambered in 8 bore. 44 3/4″ total length. Full length ramrod with brass end cap. Clear London crown proof marks (Crown Cypher over CP, Crown cypher over V) on barrel. Maker marked on the lock plate but it has hard to decipher – “Low…”

*Condition*
In great condition with a firm tight action. Heavy pitting in parts. Cocks and dry-fires. The wood shows minor age related wear and tear but has a great patina. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
