~ Walker & Hall Engraved Silver Capstan Inkwell c1918 ~
A nice quality Walker & Hall silver inkwell with inscription and monogram dated 1918.
The inkwell is of capstan style, circular with a hinged lid and decorative banding to the edge of lid and base.
The lid is engraved with the initials ‘LJ’ in decorative script.
The base is engraved with the inscription ‘From The Office Staff Of Wm France Fenwick & Co. Ltd, Who Desire To Show Their
Appreciation Of Your Service During The Great War’.
The piece is fully hallmarked for silver, Sheffield, 1918 with the Walker & Hall factory stamp ‘W&H’.
The lid has the partial hallmark of the factory stamp and lion passant mark.
The underside of the inkwell is covered in a green felt.
The inkwell does not come with its glass liner.

The inkwell has a diameter of 10cm (4 inches) and a height of 5cm (2 inches).
It weighs 215g.
~ Condition ~
There is one tiny ding the base edge and a few very light scratches to the body but overall the piece is in a very nice condition.
