~ WW2 Trench Art Floral Vase ~
Here we have a delightful piece of trench art made from a French Schneider 75mm cannon shell.
This piece came from Malta where there were large stores of allied munitions and it is quite an interesting piece.
The brass shell has been formed into a vase with a stippled design with a larger hammered set of flowers that look to be poppies and lilies worked into it. The base of the vase has been fluted.
The base of the shell still bears the markings ‘Schneider & Cie L.7 1941’.
~ Dimensions ~
The shell is 11 inches (28 cm) high.
The shell is 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide.
The shell weighs 12.9 Kg
~ Condition ~
The shell shows some signs of patina but has been polished and well kept.
